Football’s biggest star-cast including Ballon d’Or winner Ricardo Kaka and Luis Figo, alongside World Cup winner Carles Puyol and Champions League winner Nicolas Anelka visited Pakistan with aim to visit again in April of this year.
They landed in Karachi on 8th November, and stayed in Pakistan till 10th of November and promoted football. The legendary superstars urge young footballers to keep pursuing their dreams .
The footballing stars were given a warm welcome upon their arrival at Jinnah International airport. They were presented with floral wreaths and ajrak shawls.
Kaka had wished Pakistan a happy New Year earlier in the month. “I am delighted to visit Pakistan and play an instrumental role in promoting and helping football in the country. I have never been to Pakistan so I am really excited to come and play football whilst helping unearth hidden talent,” he said.
Figo, himself a former galactico at Real Madrid also show keeness saying,“It’s exciting to see another emerging country in Asia embrace football,” he said. “I’m certain in a population of 220 million, there must be huge potential waiting to emerge into the international scene.”
The World Soccer Stars 2019 will see two Kaka and Figo-led sides play matches in Karachi and Lahore from April 26 and 29.
“We’ll come with 10 legends in April to play a match,” Figo said in conference at private hotel in Karachi.
“I am delighted to visit Pakistan and play an instrumental role in promoting and helping football in the country. I have never been to Pakistan so I am really excited to come and play football whilst helping unearth hidden talent,” said Kaka.
