The debate on Pakistani writers trying to normalize the wrongdoings have been going on in recent times. The storyline of the serials aired revolve on marital affairs, disloyalty, lying, second marriages, abusive in-laws, etc.
The Pakistani drama industry has been trying hard to gain its recognition but it looks like it will fail because our writers have no new storyline. The industry which was gaining popularity is now losing it because Pakistani writers are justifying all the wrongdoings.
Be it Mere Pass Tum Ho or Jhooti, etc the writers are portraying that you can leave your husband if he is not rich enough to fulfill your wishes. The female leads are pictured as golddiggers and they don’t have any objection in portraying it.
These shows are quite popular in our country but what are they telling the viewers? Women try hard to strive in this country for their basic needs but showing them as gold diggers are questionable.
With the advancement of media and the emergence of an increasing number of channels, the production houses are only striving for high TRPs. The rat-race has put a dent on Pakistani writers who are coming up with the same plot with different twists and stereotypical endings.
