Shamoon Abbasi’s ‘Durj’ is currently running successfully all over Pakistan and soon he will be again seen in another movie “Dhai Chaal”. The movie is produced by Dr. Irfan Ashraf, directed by Taimoor Sherazi and penned down by Faiza Choudhry.
‘Dhai Chaal’ reflects Balochistan’s story and the hardships faced by its locals to maintain peace and harmony. Talking about his character in this film, Shamoon revealed, ” I’m playing the part of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the RAW agent from India, who was arrested by Pakistani authorities in March 2016.”
Moreover, talking about the plot, he said, “It is based on the time when Jadhav was active in the region of Balochistan and was appointed to sabotage the billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.”
Apart from Shamoon Abbasi, this film also features Ayesha Omer, whose character is of a journalist from Quetta, who is struggling to reveal the harsh reality of Balochistan’s people. Talking about the movie in an interview, Ayesha said, “The story is about Balochistan, it’s about foreign entities there and how the people of Balochistan sacrificed a lot and went through a lot of hard times to regain peace in the region. It’s about everything they gave up; it’s the story of students, of journalists.”
The cast also includes Rasheed Naz, Adnan Shah Tipu, Saleem Mairaj and Humayun Ashraf and is scheduled to release in the following year. This upcoming project is not like the usual Rom com or chick-flick, it has a heavy story line and we all are looking forward for its release.
